Food & beverage distributors · Florida
Software for Florida food and beverage distributors.
Futurise builds B2B ordering portals, order desks and AI order intake for Florida food and beverage distributors — the ones supplying restaurants, hotels, grocers and institutions, taking most of their orders by phone, email and PDF, and running per-account pricing and dated stock out of spreadsheets. A first build is one slice of that flow, fixed-price, live in weeks.
US phone line · Any time, day or night — you'll talk to Shivam, who builds it.
Futurise is a remote studio with a US line, +1 (954) 469-9764, answered at any hour. We have no Florida office and don't pretend to; we meet in Florida for the projects that call for it.
See it first, on fictional data: orders.futurise.studio is a wholesale ordering portal and factory.futurise.studio a production tracker.
Florida's food and beverage distributors serve one of the largest hospitality economies in the country, and the order pattern that comes with it is brutal: the same restaurant, five times a week, with a slightly different list each time, sent however the chef feels like sending it. A photo of a handwritten sheet. A reply to last week's email saying "same again plus two cases." A voicemail at 10pm. Someone on your team turns each of those into an order before the truck leaves.
That is the step we remove. The customer who wants a portal gets one that opens on last Tuesday's order with their own price on every line. The customer who will never stop emailing keeps emailing, and a model reads the attachment, matches it to your item file and their history, and drafts the order for a person to approve. Both land in the same queue.
Dated stock is the other Florida-specific pressure. Heat, humidity and short-shelf-life categories mean lot and expiry have to be in view before an order is committed, not discovered at the dock. A first build can include exactly that gate.
On the ground
What's actually different here.
Florida has 2,937 grocery and related-product wholesalers employing 64,187 people, plus 356 beer, wine and spirits wholesalers employing 16,564. US Census Bureau, County Business Patterns, 2023
Miami-Dade alone has 951 grocery wholesalers; Broward 365; Palm Beach 223 — the tri-county area holds about 52% of the state's (share computed from the county files). US Census Bureau, County Business Patterns, 2023
Orange County's 183 grocery wholesalers employ 17,460 people — more than Miami-Dade's 951 establishments do (12,771), a measure of how large the Orlando hospitality accounts are (comparison computed from the county files). US Census Bureau, County Business Patterns, 2023
315 of the state's grocery wholesalers are general-line, 319 handle packaged frozen food, and 1,119 are 'other grocery' — specialty houses, the category most likely to be running on a spreadsheet. US Census Bureau, County Business Patterns, 2023
Where it breaks
The four things we keep finding.
The 6am order pile
Forty emails, twelve PDFs and three photos, all typed in by one person before the routes cut. That person is the ceiling on your growth.
Per-account pricing in a spreadsheet
Contract prices, the restaurant group's override, the promotion that ended last week. One file, one owner, no history.
Short-dated stock nobody could see
Sold, picked, then pulled at the dock. The customer finds out when the truck is light.
The portal customers stopped using
It showed list prices and no history. Two orders in, they went back to email.
What we build
One slice first, then the next.
Ordering portal
Reorder from history on the first screen, the account's own price on every line, honest stock or none at all, works on a phone in a walk-in.
Order desk
Every order — portal, rep, email, PDF, voicemail — in one queue, exceptions stopped visibly, nothing retyped.
AI order intake
Email and PDF orders read, matched to your items and the customer's history, drafted for approval with the original attached.
Lot and expiry gate
Dated stock in view before an order is committed, FEFO picking, a short-date report that runs itself.
Pricing
Every build is custom. Priced before we start.
Every build is custom. You get a fixed price in writing after a 20-minute call, before any work starts. Most first builds go live in two to four weeks, and 30 days of care after launch are included.
One slice of your order flow
The one slice of your order flow that is costing you hours today — an ordering portal, an order desk, a production tracker — scoped and priced before we start.
For most first builds. The price is fixed in writing after a 20-minute call, before any work starts.
The price
Custom to your scope and fixed in writing after a 20-minute call, before any work starts. There's no price list.
The clock
Most first builds go live in two to four weeks, counted from the day your data arrives in the agreed format, not from signature.
After launch
30 days of care are included. After that, care is optional, month to month, and only once your team uses it daily.
How it works
Training is part of the build, not an extra.
Call, or book 20 minutes
You talk to Shivam, who builds it, any time, day or night. We ask how orders reach you today and where they get re-typed. If software isn't the answer, we'll say so.
One slice, one fixed price
We agree the slice, one named contact on your side, and a fixed price in writing, before any work starts.
Two to four weeks
For most first builds. The clock starts when your data arrives in the agreed format, not at signature. One read-only path in from what you already run.
Trained, then supported
A screen-share walkthrough, training for your office (we do it ourselves), then 30 days of care.
Straight answers
The questions, answered up front.
Our customers will never use a portal. Is this still worth it?
Some of them won't, and they shouldn't have to. The accounts that move to a portal are the high-frequency reorderers; the rest keep ordering the way they do, and the AI intake reads their email and PDF orders instead. The number that matters is order lines arriving without anyone typing — not how many accounts registered.
Can it handle catch weight and split cases?
Yes, and it has to be in the brief from the first call, because units of measure touch every screen. Catch weight, mixed cases, split cases and per-customer conversions are exactly the things that make an off-the-shelf portal wrong for a food distributor, and exactly what a custom build is for.
Can we see it before we call?
Yes: orders.futurise.studio is a live wholesale ordering portal and factory.futurise.studio a live production tracker, both on fictional data. We don't show client screens or name clients — every Florida client we have is confidential — so the demos are the proof.
What does it cost?
There is no price list, because there is no standard build. You get a fixed price in writing after a 20-minute call, before any work starts. Most first builds go live in two to four weeks, training is part of the build, and 30 days of care are included. Call +1 (954) 469-9764 or book at futurise.studio/book.
Are you based in Florida?
No. Futurise is a remote studio with a US line answered at any hour, and we meet in Florida for the projects that call for it. Every build includes a live link from the first week, a screen-share walkthrough and training for your office.
